The 25-year-old left-hander will be making his first start since June 20. He was the Nats' opening day starter the last two seasons. WASHINGTON (AP) -Steven Strasburg threw on Sunday for the first time since he was placed on the 15-day disabled list on July 29, and everything went well.

The Washington Nationals' right-hander was scratched minutes before his scheduled start against Atlanta on July 28 and was diagnosed with inflammation in his right shoulder.

He was placed on the 15-day disabled list the next day. Sunday morning he played catch, throwing two sets of 25 pitches in right field.

A story on the Nationals' official website cited Guzman's agent in reporting the move, which was confirmed by a team source. The Rangers' acquisition of Guzman helps to offset the loss of second baseman Ian Kinsler, who was placed on the disabled list this week with a strained left groin.
