Ransom was batting just .152 with two doubles, a home run and four RBI, in 12 games with Arizona. PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Diamondbacks have traded second baseman Kelly Johnson to the Toronto Blue Jays for infielders Aaron Hill and John McDonald

Arizona also placed right-hander Jason Marquis on the 60-day disabled list with a fractured right fibula on Tuesday.

Johnson, eligible for free agency after the season, has struggled at the plate this year, hitting .209 with 132 strikeouts and 18 homers.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The start of the Washington Nationals' game against the Arizona Diamondbacks has been delayed by 20 minutes because of the earthquake that rattled the East Coast.

The team said Tuesday night the first pitch would be at 7:25 p.m.

The Nationals had delayed opening the gates to check the stadium for damage before letting fans in. The gates were opened at 6:40 p.m., 25 minutes before the scheduled start.
