NCAA Basketball Betting Lines

02/18/2010 - Oxford, MS (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The 17th-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores and the Ole Miss Rebels meet in Oxford tonight in SEC action.

Vanderbilt has won its last two games to move to 19-5 overall and 8-2 in league play. The Commodores knocked off LSU last Saturday in a 77-69 final to move to 13-0 at home, and while they haven't been as impressive on the road, the record is still above .500 in enemy territory, a claim that can't be made by many teams.

As for Ole Miss, it has been idle since a 71-63 loss to Mississippi State on the road. The Rebels have lost three of their last four games to fall to 17-7 overall, including 5-5 in league action. Ole Miss has been tremendous at home this season, winning 10 of its 12 contests in Oxford.

The Commodores own a 70-39 series advantage over the Rebels, which includes wins in seven of the last eight meetings.

Vanderbilt is generating 78.4 ppg this season on 48.4 percent shooting from the field, and the club is allowing 68.4 ppg on 40.8 percent field goal efficiency. Jermaine Beal is posting 14.8 ppg to pace the Commodores, and he has dished out 70 assists. Jeffery Taylor provides 13.9 ppg, while A.J. Ogilvy adds 13.3 ppg and 6.0 rpg from his center position. John Jenkins rounds out a quartet of double-digit scorers with 10.4 ppg. Lance Goulbourne was outstanding for Vanderbilt off the bench against LSU last Saturday, as he scored 18 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Beal had 17 points, Taylor netted 15 and Ogilvy tallied a dozen for the Commodores, who earned a 31-14 advantage in points from the foul line. Vandy shot a sizzling 66.7 percent from the floor in the second half, key to the win.

Chris Warren is the leading scorer for Ole Miss this season with 16.2 ppg, and he has dished out 82 assists. Terrico White checks in with 14.8 ppg, and Eniel Polynice provides 10.8 ppg. In the recent loss to Mississippi State, the Rebels shot only 38 percent from the field, including 6-of-26 from three-point range. They were outscored 15-3 from the foul line, and their starters were clearly outplayed. Polynice posted 14 points and five assists for Ole Miss, which got 13 points from White. Zach Graham poured in 11 points, and Trevor Gaskins rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points.

Owens broke the bone leading to his right ring finger Sunday night and had a plate surgically attached to it Monday. Although Owens' hand was swollen and aching Wednesday, Dallas Cowboys coach Bill Parcells said he's optimistic the receiver will be back at work next week and catching passes a week from Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

MySportsbook.com online sportsbook listed Terrell Owens with odds of 7-2 (or $7 paid out for every $2 bet) to return back for the game against Tennessee.

"I certainly wouldn't rule it out now," Parcells said, referring to Terrell Owens immediate return. "Maybe five days from now I might, but I wouldn't rule it out now. ... I know we're looking to try to get him moving around pretty good in the next day or so. So we'll see where we are."

Owens did not speak with reporters Wednesday, but said Sunday he'd be out two to four weeks. A return against the Titans would be 13 days after the surgery. The Cowboys were listed as an early -7 1/2 favorite vs. the Tennessee Titans for Week 4 at MySportsbook.com
